In Hollywood, where stars, agents, executives and entrepreneurs rival one another to give the most distinctive, talked-about parties, where do they go for advice? Yvonne E. White. "Tropical fever has hit nationwide," says Yvonne E. White, Tinseltown's top event planner. "Thanks in part to trend-setting bars featured on hot TV shows like 'Sex and the City,' bartenders are creating colorful, flavorful drinks with an edge." To help turn on the tropical spirit at home, White suggests lighting tiki torches, floating candles and turning up the Caribbean tunes. Tell partygoers that shoes are optional and Hawaiian shirts and sarong wraps are encouraged. To help take it out on the town, organize a group outing to a local hot spot with everyone draped in tropical garb, from leis to flowers in their hair to sandals. "And don't forget the tropical drinks," says White. "Whether you're at home or in a nightclub, you can create a Tropical Pineapple Paradise."
