1 oz white rum
1 oz tequila blanco
lemonade

Serve in a tall glass with lemonade over a little ice. Drink like a tequila slammer, holding a slice of lemon between your thumb and forefinger of one hand, a pinch of salt resting on the back of the same hand. Lick up the salt, down the drink in one and then bite the slice of lemon.

A friend, Ollie, went to the bar at the Hopbine, a pub in Cambridge, England and asked the barman to mix him a drink based on vodka. He was given the above concoction, and in a drunken state I persuaded him to drink it like a tequila slammer. The results were amazing - an excellent tasting drink that gives you the rush of a lifetime - it's now a favourite of ours. And, quite appropriately, named after the first to try one.
