1940s Whiskey Skin

1 1/2 oz rye or bourbon whiskey
1 lump sugar
 boiling water
 lemon peel

Put lump of sugar in hot whiskey glass and fill two-thirds with boiling water. Add whiskey. Stir then add twist of lemon peel on top then drop in glass.
