We loved her Ultimate A-to-Z Bar Guide, we tolerated her Ultimate Liquor-Free Drink Guide and now we toast her Ultimate Guide to Pitcher Drinks. Sharon Tyler Herbst, how do you do it? By the pitcher, apparently.
In this recent tome you will find more than fifty pitcher-sized recipes with tips on techniques, ingredients, equipment, glassware, garnishes, hangover-helpers plus party-food ideas for people who don't like to cook.
Herbst points out that having beverages pre-made by the pitcher allows the host to mingle and enjoy the party.
But will the quality suffer?
Not in our test kitchen. We were impressed by the simplicity behind most of the recipes which stood up to their single-serving siblings.
There is one thing hosts ought to know. Just because you've made a pitcher doesn't mean the drinks will last longer. Our enthusiastic tasters slurped up the last drops before we could get the next batch in the blender.
